The Kirkpatrick Coast to Coast cycling route is a brand new Scottish coast to coast cycle touring route spanning the entire width of the most southerly counties of Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. We were delighted to have been an integral part of the planning team who put this fabulous coast to coast biking route together and to be one of the first cycling holiday providers in the UK to be able to offer this biking route as one of our self-guided biking holiday packages, including top quality overnight accommodation, luggage transfers each day, transport from one end of the route to the other if required, a detailed route map, gpx files and route notes to help you find place to eat and points of interest during each day of your cycling holiday.
The cycling route is 250 miles long, beginning on the wind-swept west coast of southern Scotland and snakes its way through some of the least explored regions of Scotland. The biking route passes through scenic, picturesque towns and villages and over heather-clad moorland hills along quiet country roads and finishes on the North Sea coast at Eyemouth or Berwick-upon-Tweed. This C2C cycle route uses scenic country roads so is suitable for road bikes, gravel bikes, hybrid and touring bikes or mountain bikes but we'd recommend fitting narrower tyres on mountain bikes if you choose to use one.
There has been a real buzz in the region about this cycling route and there has been a lot of interest in the local and UK media. Here are some of the articles that were released earlier this year, with lots of details about the route:
